Kama Shastra is Kama Sutra
There is this concept called the art of making love. Yes, you guess it right. Kama Sutra. While the popular notion on kamasutra is the actual love making, let us investigate the beginnings of this art to help us understand its very essence throughout time.
It was the Indians who created Kama Shastra (or the rules of love) on the basis of the Vedas. The first compilation is attributed to Shiva’s companion, Nandi. Now, it is preserved in the form of Kama Sutra.
Kama Sutra is said to be written between the first and the sixth century A.D. The original version is Kama Shastra but because it was not preserved well, the only recognized as the true surviving text is the Kama Sutra.
The Kam Shastra, according to history, was one of the three ancient Indian texts that concerns on the goals of life and on how to beautify it. Indians, being particular with making life ecstatic, formulated Kama Shastra to give presentation to the art of love.
