Michaelangelo Is The Man

Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, famously known as Michaelangelo, was a Renaissance man. He was a painter, an architect, a sculptor, poet and an engineer. This man was a genius, indeed! It can be recalled that he used to be the “contender” of Da Vinci in the arts, sciences and humanities. However, unlike Da Vinci, Michaelangelo is the best-documented artist of the sixteenth century. Before he turned thirty, two of his best-known works, the Pieta and David, were sculpted.

One intriguing fact about Michaelangelo is his love of the male beauty. He was attracted by both aesthetics and emotions of men. Yes it is true that during the Renaissance period, the expression of masculinity was being highlighted but more to this is that in Michaelangelo’s art, there was a clear evidence of his sensual response to this idealization. He had also showed great expressions of love. He showed accounts of love that was not only romantic but also physical as well.
